ROCKS & NAMES

Carnelian Rock it forms as lava cools down, and over time, iron mixes in, turning it bright orange-red.  It's  found in Brazil, India, Madagascar, and parts of the United States.  

Tiger Eye rocks are formed by Crocidolite fibers that are slowly replaced by quartz while keeping their silky, golden glow.  It's found in South Africa, Australia, and India.  

Sodalite it forms deep underground in cooling melted rock rich in sodium. They are found in Canada, Brazil, and Namibia.  

Quartz it's formed by hot water rich in silicon and oxygen cools down, forming shiny quartz crystals. it's found almost everywhere, especially in Brazil, Madagascar, and the United States.  

Amethyst are quartz in volcanic rocks that absorbed iron and natural radiation, turning it purple. Found in Brazil, Uruguay, and Zambia. 

Citrine it forms from natural heat deep inside the Earth transforms amethyst into golden-yellow quartz. It's found in Brazil, Madagascar, and Russia.

Smoky Quartz slowly turns brown or gray when exposed to natural radiation underground. It's found in Brazil, Switzerland, and the United States. 

Blue Lake Agate are minerals build up in empty spaces inside volcanic rock, stacking over time to make colorful bands. They are a rare variety found near the Great Lakes in the U.S.  

Rose Quartz forms in big chunks of rock called pegmatites. Minerals mix with quartz, making it pink.  Found in Brazil, Madagascar, and South Dakota A fun fact, people believe it brings love and friendship.  

Aquamarine forms in granite pegmatites, crystallizing from water-rich beryllium. Iron makes it blue-green. It's found in  Brazil, Pakistan, and Madagascar.  

Jasper are formed when tiny grains of quartz get packed together inside rocks, creating colorful patterns. It's found, all over the world, including the U.S., Madagascar, and Indonesia. 

Obsidian it forms as lava cools down super fast, turning into shiny black glass instead of crystals. It's found in Mexico, Iceland, and the United States.  A fun fact, Obsidian can be sharpened to make blades even sharper than steel.
